Flexure testing consists of applying a load to a beam of the test material, which is supported at one or both ends. Material properties can vary based upon the direction that stress is applied. Bending tests can be performed in controlled stress or strain and can be used to measure stiffness or resistance to fatigue. Depending on the material rigidity, stiffness, or test specifications two, three or four-point configurations can be used.
